- (NHS and healthcare ACM) REJECTED FROM THE ACM SET. Building, quoting the Trenton Fire report, records the cladding as SPANWALL, ‘an aluminium sandwich panel with polystyrene insulation’, and ‘a flammable cladding system, but one which would not be excluded by the HTM guidance document’; also ‘There are no cavity barriers within the existing external wall construction which is a deviation from guidance and could cause unseen fire spread between floors, bypassing the compartment floor arrangement’ (https://www.building.co.uk/news/fire-safety-failings-shut-hospital-trauma-unit/5089031.article). 52 inpatient beds decanted, unit closed about four years.
